Echo & The Bunnymen - Lips Like Sugar [second version] [1987]

This is the second version of the Lips Like Sugar video. Both were directed by Anton Corbin. But after the first video that featured two spacesuit-clad women in a colorful moonscape was finished, Anton Corbin and the band decided it wasn't the edgy look they wanted. So they added some footage and faded the spacewomen into the background for the second version.

Here's the second of two versions of the video for Lips Like Sugar by Echo & The Bunnymen.

Sorry. I know the band personally. The information I posted at the top is true and accurate. A lot of people erroneously think this is the first version, but it's not. It would be great to hear why you think the band is wrong and where that information came from so it can be corrected. Thanks!

No, I'm not doubting the infromation you gave. I'm saying that you have posted a wrong link. In the thumbnail image it says that the filename is "Echo & The Bunnymen - Lips Like Sugar (second version)" with a size of 217MB and a duration of 04:08, but the file in the zip I downloaded from the link you gave has a duration of 4:44, it's file size is 304MB and it's file name is "Echo & The Bunnymen - Lips Like Sugar (first version)". Even the zip file itself is called "ETB-LLSfv.zip" which implies it includes the first version.

Sorry if I was unclear, but I didn't mean you should change the video stats on the thread. I meant the file you have uploaded is the wrong one and you should re-upload it.

The video is the right one and always has been. But I mistakenly had the technical details from the 'version 1' of the video. I also had the RAR file name so it would be easy to confuse which version you were getting.

Again - the video is correct and always has been. I've now updated the stats and the RAR filename or reflect the correct video name.

Well, I have just downloaded and played side by side both your upload and the video juniorjr has uploaded (http://www.thecentralbox.net/alternative-punk-british-ebv/152958-echo-bunnymen-lips-like-sugar.html) and they are identical.

But this video is the full black and white version - no color. The version you believe is a duplicate starts black and white and turns to color and has snippets from the original (v1) video.

Not sure what else to say. Downloaded them both and they're different. This is still the second version that does away with the girls in spacesuits (although there's a brief B/w scene of them for less than 2 seconds).

I originally fixed the problem, but it wasn't a problem. So now I un-fixed it (brought back the original video and stats). And I doubly confirmed everything is the way it should be. The screen grabs match the video which match the stats which match everything else. SO whether it was always wrong, or was briefly wrong when I 'fixed' it, I'm not sure anymore. But it's fixed now. And thank you for persisting and keeping me honest. And keep up the good work!
